What We Do For The Community.

DEACON AND DEACONESS MINISTRY FOCUS :

Compassion: ( Widows/ Divorcees / Hospital Visits)

Comfort: ( Funeral Assistance )

Counsel: ( Help young married couples)

Correction: ( Helping delinquent children)

Care: ( Hospitality – Guests included)

Compassion: The Deacon teams will visit widows and divorced people within the cells and seek ways of being of assistance to them should there be any needs. The deacon team will make sure that these families have food on their tables. Any noted circumstance should be brought to the attention of the Eldership. The collecting and distribution of food hampers on a monthly basis might be necessary where there is unemployment.

Comfort: In the event of a funeral, the deacon team will assist that family and together with the cell leaders in that jurisdiction will assist that family with any funeral arrangements and represent the church family officially during their bereavement. Follow up visits during a period of bereavement will fall under this ministry.

Counsel: The Deacon Teams will act as role models to other couples in the church and during visits highlight some of the issues facing families to the Eldership Board who will address those issues that need attention.

Correction: The deacon team will assist young families with delinquent children and offer advice and counsel where necessary. All advice should not be prescriptive but purely of Christian love and care and concern.

Care: Hospitality will be highlighted in this component of ministry. All church functions where meals are concerned will be the function of the female component of this team. The function of the kitchen and its operation during ministry programs will fall under the care function of this ministry team. The planning of meals for guests in all ministry aspects will fall under this jurisdiction.
